Cape Town - Fiji Water Girl gets a taste of fame.
The model – real name Kelleth Cuthbert – has snagged herself a role in popular soapie The Bold and the Beautiful and is set to make her American small-screen debut on 6 February, US Weekly reports.
“Thank you to the lovely folks of @boldandbeautifulcbs for having me yesterday!” the brunette beauty wrote as she posed alongside Bold stars Darin Brooks, Courtney Hope, Heather Tom and Nia Sioux.
The 31-year-old became a viral sensation after the recent Golden Globe Awards where she photo-bombed a string of A-listers’ red-carpet photo opportunities, People reports.
Clad in a blue dress and holding a tray of Fiji Water the Canadian model can be seen standing behind Dakota Fanning, Idris Elba, Amy Adams, Luke Evans and a host of other stars.
Social media exploded with quips and memes featuring her – but not everyone was impressed, with many branding her an attention-seeker despite her claims she “didn’t know” at the time about her presence in the photos.
Jamie Lee Curtis didn’t hide her displeasure, saying she actually tried to move away from Kelleth during the show.
Blasting it as a “blatant” marketing ploy, the 60-year-old took to Instagram to vent.
“So, my husband, who doesn’t look at a lot of showbusiness news sites, just mentioned that I was on the CNN website,” she wrote.
“I specifically moved away from the blatant promotions by Fiji and Moët where young women with their trays filled with their wares stood near a designated camera.
“I knew why there was a photographer poised there and I moved away as I said out loud that I didn’t want to be doing advertising for either . . .
“The sponsors of events need to get permission from people when they get them to take their picture next to products.”
