Cape Town - Jake Gyllenhaal can hold a note!

During The Late Late Show with James Corden recently, Jake Gyllenhaal joined the host for a parody rendition of Whitney Houston’s song Greatest Love of All, E Online reports.

The pair slightly altered the lyrics, singing the Greatest Gyllenhaal of All after the host initially announced that the Brokeback Mountain actor wouldn’t appear on the show due to a conflicting schedule.

In a sad voice, James said, “I can’t stop thinking about Jake Gyllenhaal. He’s such a good actor. He’d be an amazing guest, too. I really wish he was here tonight.”

Jake then appeared from backstage and started belting out the iconic song, Billboard reports.

"Every night I watch the Late Late Show/ People need a host to look up to/ I really wish I could be on your balcony," Gyllenhaal sang. "One day I hope to see/ My face on Car Pool Karaoke."

The pair, who drew huge applause from the crowd, finally decided that Jake’s sister, Maggie, was actually the greatest Gyllenhaal of all.

The actor then blew James a kiss before slipping away, Rolling Stone reports.

This isn’t the first time the Spider-Man: Far From Home actor has showcased his musical talent.

In 2007, the Hollywood A-lister performed a mock version of Dream Girls’ I Am Telling You on Saturday Night Live.
