Janet Jackson is still glamorous as ever at 52!

Cape Town - Janet Jackson celebrated her 52^nd birthday on Wednesday – and there’s no sign her beauty is fading.

Not much has been seen in the media of the Together Again singer and younger sister of Michael Jackson since the birth of her first child, Eissa Al Mana (1). But she emerged again earlier this year, looking as great as ever. 

Many celebrities sent congratulatory messages on her birthday on 16 May. Janet’s close friend, rap artist Missy Elliot, even shared a video of one of her performances.

“Happy birthday @janetjackson! I love you sis!” Missy began her post.

Janet responded by posting a pic of herself looking stunning on social media and thanked her fans, friends and family for their birthday greetings.

“Thank u so much for all the birthday love. I love you more than you know. See you Sunday,” she captioned the photo.

In a recent interview with Billboard.com Janet said being idle wasn’t for her, although as a single mother her life was busy.

“The drive is in my DNA,” she said. “I couldn’t lose it if I wanted to, and I don’t. Motivation is something I treasure. Besides, for all its difficulties, this is the life I love. I’m surrounded with a team of dancers, singers and musicians I love.”

She also said she’s had to deal with low self-esteem issues.

“Like millions of other women, I’ve struggled with low self-esteem my whole life. I’m doing better in that regard. My inclination toward harsh self-criticism and even self-negation has dramatically eased up.”

The single mom said she subscribed to various methods of support including psychotherapy, vigorous exercise and genuine spirituality.
