Cape Town - Jennifer Lopez (49) and Alex Rodriguez (43) have opened up about their engagement and the happy couple couldn’t be more smitten!
Alex popped the question during a romantic trip to the Bahamas earlier this month.
The couple then announced the news on their respective Instagram accounts, by giving us a look at Jennifer’s engagement ring.
The pair finally spoke about their engagement publicly for the first time, with Jen telling People in their latest issue: "We’re really happy."
"We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that’s what we’re enjoying the most," Alex added.
Alex further told the publication that their engagement was perfect timing!

Jennifer says their romance has been a fairytale from the beginning and because of that, they’re enjoying every moment of where they are now.
J-Rod also just announced their first fashion partnership as a couple. They’re the newest brand ambassadors for eyewear label Quay Australia.
Not only do they co-star in the ad campaign, but the duo also inspired two new collections for the brand: Quay x JLo and Quay x ARod.
"Everything that we do, we do together," the World of Dance judge says. "He knows my dreams and I know his dreams, and together we feel like we’re stronger.
"We’re constantly supporting each other and thinking about all the things that we can build together."
The couple have been together for two years. This will be Jennifer’s fourth marriage and Alex’s second.
Jennifer shares twins Max and Emme (11) with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while A-Rod is dad to daughters Natasha (14) and Ella (10) with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.
