Cape Town - Kim Kardashian recently opened her Calabasas mansion to Vogue magazine and though fans were in awe of the $60 million (R840 million) home they noticed something odd in her house.
The bathroom sinks have no basins!
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star shares the 1.4-hectare Hidden Hills mansion with her husband, Kanye West (41), and their three children - North 5, Saint, 3, and Chicago, 1.
As the reality TV star walked into the large master bathroom during the tour and revealed the his-and-hers sinks, some people noticed there were two faucets but no basins in the marble vanity.
Fans were baffled by the design and wondered if Kimye’s contractor missed an important design feature, Daily Mail reports.
"Can someone please explain the sinks at kim & kanye's house?" wrote one Twitter user.
Another joked the vanity was made from "high end marble sponge" to soak up the water, something us "poor people don’t have at home".
Others poked fun at the wealthy couple while offering an explanation of how the sinks work.
While the top of the marble vanity looks flat from far away, there’s apparently a slight indentation to channel the water from the tap to a small drainage hole.
So, while you couldn’t wash your underwear, you could gently run water without it going everywhere other than down the drainage hole.
Kim, 38, recently defended the bare design as “minimal monastery”, according to Metro.
The mansion was designed by Axel Vervoordt and took years to complete. The couple bought the house in 2014.
