Cape Town - It’s been four years since a drug overdose at the Love Ranch Brothel nearly claimed his life.

Now for the first time since the ordeal, Lamar Odom opens up about his crippling sex and drug addiction.

In an exclusive excerpt from his memoir, Darkness to Light, published in People, the basketball player writes, “I am a sex addict. I have been obsessed with sex for as long as I can remember.”

Lamar (39) also reveals that he’s had sex with more than 2 000 women, Cosmopolitan reports.

“There were too many strippers to count,” he writes. “It wasn’t a big deal, but often I’d pay them. I never thought less of them.”

His sex addiction intensified his drug abuse and vice versa, ET Online reports.

“Sex was a trigger for me to do drugs because you double up on [that] good feeling.”

His battle with these addictions damaged his relationship with ex-wife Khloé Kardashian (34). Lamar says he repeatedly cheated on the reality TV star until she eventually discovered the infidelities.

“I was shocked and embarrassed,” he told People in an exclusive interview. “I wanted to take it back, but you can’t. [I] wanted to hide it. But that sick sin was hard for me to hide . . . I had a problem.

“I wish I could have been more of a man. It still bothers me to this day. But regret is something we have to learn to live with.”

Despite all that’s happened Lamar says he hopes he can be friends With Khloé and that he misses the entire Kardashian-Jenner family.

It was his near-fatal drug overdose at the Nevada brothel that made him realise he had to get his life in order.

He’s now drug-free but admits it’s still difficult staying away from the things that once almost killed him.

“I still struggle,” he writes. “[But] I will not go into the darkness. Ever again.”
