It started with one video on Instagram to get musician Lin Dough and his five-year-old son Valdo to become popular and adored by many. The father and son are fun pair and thousands of people watch their videos each day. Little Valdo has now also featured in Lin Dough’s music video for his single, Inhliziyo featuring Toto Mtobo.
INSPIRING OTHER DADS
Speaking to Move! Lin Dough says he had been posting pictures and videos of Valdo since he was a year old. He did not expect the response he did a few months ago when he posted Valdo and everyone gushed over him. “In just minutes the video had over five thousand views and tons of comments. I got message from people in Nigeria, Tanzania and the UK to name a few,” he says. Lin Dough who lives alone with his son says he has also received a lot of messages in his DM’s from men who say that he has inspired them to take care of their children and become better dads.
A CAREER IN MUSIC
Lin Dough become well known when he started the Kwaito group the Teddy Bears in 2011, which was signed under DJ Cleo. In 2015 he decided to venture into a solo career. “I must say it wasn’t easy journey. I changed my style completely from when I was with the Teddy Bears. My music has backed me up and my stage presences also works for me.” Lin Dough’s new album will be released in a few weeks and reckons it will be enjoyable.
