Cape Town - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's next big diplomatic trip will have South Africa on the itinerary.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who recently welcomed son Archie, apparently want to follow the example of Princess Diana, Harry’s late mom.

According to British news outlets, the royal couple will take in several African countries on their tour between September and November, including South Africa.

As part of Harry’s charity work they’ll apparently also visit children affected by HIV/Aids in Malawi.

Angola is included among their stopovers, and possibly Botswana too. It was in Angola where iconic photographs were taken of Diana walking through a landmine area dressed in a protective suit – just months before her tragic accident. And in 2016 Harry and Meghan were also in Botswana, taking a break from the limelight at the start of their relationship

Although this will be the first time the couple travel to South Africa together, Harry’s been on an Africa tour before – and even played in rugby in South Africa.

His last African visit was made in 2015.
