The famous Kwaito star Mshoza, real name Nomasonto Maswanganyi has finally escaped from her allegedly abusive husband, Thuthukani Mvula after months of orchestrating the getaway with no success.  The star shook everyone when she broke the silent and revealed that her new husband had been a source of her emotional breakdown.

Thuthukani paid lobola six months ago, and the star moved to his family home to perform her makoti duties. Instead of experiencing honeymoon phases, Mshoza recently revealed that she has been experiencing nothing but trauma and pure abuse from her new family, including her husband.

The star was mum for months about the alleged abuse. Her PR Manager, Thanduxolo Jindela says the celebrity status made it very difficult for her to seek help. “She somehow felt like she had to hide it. As a result of the continuous emotional and physical abuse, the star started falling apart and the cracks in her marriage started showing,” he says.

“She was acting very strong, and it was convincing. No one knew what she was going through, she hid it from us. I think it’s because she’s a celebrity, and people don’t expect her to be vulnerable,” he says.

After reporting that Thuthukani assaulted her in public, pulled out a gun on her, and threatened to kill her, the star is still living in fear saying her husband is a dangerous man. Thanduxulo say she’s now getting better since she is in hiding. He says the star has been moving from one place to the other for safety.

‘’It was bad, she went through a difficult time and it just shows now. She really couldn’t handle it. But she’s responding very well to the intense emotional treatment,’’ Thanduxolo says.

Thanduxolo says it’s been a week since Mshoza started therapy, and she’s getting better by the day. He confirms the husband is out on R5 000 bail.  Mshoza is said to be in a safe place and Thuthukani doesn’t know her whereabouts.
