He’s considered one of Hollywood’s sexiest men, yet Orlando Bloom (43) says he once practised six months of celibacy!

Yup, the hunky British actor – who’s expecting a child with fiancée Katy Perry – says before he hooked up with the 35-year-old songbird, he took the advice of a friend to give up sex in his search for “The One”.

“They said, ‘If you want to be serious about a relationship, go celibate for a few months and figure it out’,” the Pirates of the Caribbean star said in an interview published in the UK’s Sunday Times.

As he “wasn’t happy” at the time he took his friend’s advice, and said it was an eye-opener of note.

“It takes away the idea of going to a party and thinking, ‘Who am I going to meet?’ I was suddenly like, ‘Oh, I can have a relationship with a woman that is just [a] friend.’

Initially, the Lord of the Rings actor – who’s already a father to son Flynn (9) with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr – said he was just going to do it for three months. “But I was really enjoying the way I was relating to women, and to the feminine [part] within myself.”

He didn’t even masturbate or watch porn, he added. “Completely nothing. It was insane,” he said, before adding that he did take a bit of strain.

“I don’t think it’s healthy. You have to keep it moving down there.”

But his pal’s advice worked as he was in the right head space when he met Katy at a Golden Globes afterparty in January 2016. He popped the question on Valentine’s Day last year and now they’re expecting.

Describing his fiancée, Orlando said, “She’s witty and smart and intelligent. She’s charismatic, but she’s direct too, and this dynamic was intriguing to me.

He’s super excited to become a dad again with the singer, who he described as “blooming” in a recent Instagram post.
