Perk up your sexual health with a visit to this year’s Sexpo

Cape Town - If you want to get in touch with your wild and kinky side, or just want to learn more about sexual health, head to Sexpo this coming weekend.

The annual sensuality and lifestyle expo is back at Nasrec, Johannesburg, and promises to be bigger and better than before.

Those who have attended this expo before, which often sets tongues wagging, will know the highlight of this four-day event is the appearance by Miss Nude SA.

This year’s patrons will not only meet the sultry and gorgeous Miss Nude SA Nikki du Plessis, but they will also get to see the lady who stands to take over from her.

Sean Newman, managing director of Sexpo, said the bar has been raised this year.

“The competition is going to be fierce at the Miss Nude SA pageant. Contestants started applying as early as last year. We have received hundreds of applications,” he claimed.

Potential contestants had to draft a motivational letter stating why they deserved to be Miss Nude SA.

They also had to send their photos showing how many different looks you can pull off. Before being crowned, potential winners will be interviewed by judges like in most beauty pageants, but the questions might be more challenging.

Newman said the pageant was similar to beauty pageants, “the only difference is that Miss Nude may have to be topless at events like Sexpo”.

But he assured City Press that participants are “treated with respect and the competition does not necessarily mean they will be completely nude”.

“Take Nikki, for instance she may have to walk around topless but body paint might be scribbled over her skin [obscuring sensitive areas].”

Newman said while Sexpo was excited about Du Plessis’ appearance, having Nikki on board to make an appearance was the cherry on top of an already incredible event.

“She is now internationally known and we feel very fortunate to have her with us.”

Du Plessis, an international model, has featured on Playboy.com and Playboy Plus, and will be walking around the expo centre signing autographs.

But she is not the only attraction at the expo. The famous Australian penile artist Pricasso will also be around and so will Suzie Q, Australia’s aerial and pole queen, and international porn stars Jessica Drake, Vicki Chase and Tanya Tate.

For those who don’t fancy seeing a naked man using his penis as a paint brush, there are other attractions like the legendary adult entertainment lounges including Teazers, Teaze-Hers, Phantasm LGBTI Lounge, Pulse Boys Lounge, Theatre Erotic and a BDSM Play Area.

There will also be sexual, lifestyle and health informative talk shows throughout the four days.

Newman said there was something for everybody.

“It’s not only about sensuality, but education and health as well,” he said.

About 60 000 people are expected to attend the Sexpo which opens on Thursday and will close on Sunday.
