It’s one thing when you’ve contracted the novel coronavirus as a mother, but to have your son experiencing the horrific symptoms too can be heartbreaking – and this was Pink’s reality.

The 40-year-old singer who recently got candid about the symptoms of the novel virus, has once again revealed the harsh reality she faced prior to her recovery, E! News reports.

During an online interview with Ellen DeGeneres Pink discussed her Covid-19 experience.

Her symptoms and those of her youngest child, Jameson, became more evident mid-March, according to the mother of two.

"At a certain point around 18 March, 19 March, 20 March, his fever was staying and going up," Pink said, referring to her son.

"I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't breathe."

At that point, for the first time in 30 years, she had to use a nebuliser to assist her breathing, as well as a rescue inhaler which she says she couldn’t function without at the time.

"That’s when I started to get really scared."

But when her three-year-old started complaining about chest pains, the wary mom was forced to come face-to-face with the harrowing illness.

"That’s the point where you are just kind of like, okay are we going to the hospital? Like what are we doing right now?" she said.

"Because this is the scariest thing I've ever, ever been through in my whole life."

Since that daunting experience the mother and son have made an incredible recovery, especially after Jameson tested negative two weeks after he took the initial test.

In light of her recent experience, the What About Us singer donated R19 million to coronavirus relief support.
