Cape Town - Despite presenting a united front on the red carpet, Victoria and David Beckham barely exchanged words during the recent British Fashion Awards after party.

Once inside the Royal Albert Hall the couple reportedly went their separate ways as David (43) introduced himself to guests at the pre-ceremony dinner, The Sun reports.

During the show Victoria (44) apparently appeared unimpressed as her hubby was praised by host Jack Whitehall, who joked that retired footballer had stolen the spotlight at the royal wedding in May, news.au.com reports.

The Beckhams reportedly sat with their backs to each other at the after party and barely spoke.

“They sat together for the ceremony but moved apart at the after party,” an insider at the party said.

“They were only seen briefly speaking to each other once in about 25 minutes before they left. They made an effort to look cosier when a crowd built around their table.”

David’s friendliness towards pop star Rita Ora in Victoria’s absence raised a few eyebrows.

“He seemed quite charmed by Rita and said they should work together,” the insider added.

Rita (28) was the first celebrity to visit David and film director Guy Ritchie’s new pub, The Walmer Castle, in Notting Hill, London, earlier this year, Daily Mail reports.

In 2013 rumours surfaced that the singer was dating David’s close friend Dave Gardner, a sports agent who’s now in a relationship with actress Liv Tyler, Hello Magazine reports.

“David, Victoria and [their eldest son] Brooklyn had a fantastic night together at the awards and party,” David’s spokesman said.

Divorce rumours that surfaced earlier this year were rubbished by the couple’s reps.

But Victoria’s neck tattoo dedicated to her husband appears to have vanished as the fashion designer stepped out in an elegant backless gown at the British Fashion Awards.

Only faint marks were visible from the nape of her neck to her upper back where the words, “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” once were.
