Prince Harry and Meghan halt their holiday to highlight charity

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken a break from their six-week holiday to highlight a charity for veterans with snaps on Instagram.

According to the Daily Mail, the posts showcase the Endeavour Fund which is a charity for wounded veterans.

In the snaps, which are from the charity’s awards earlier this year at London’s Draper Hall, Harry and Meghan can be seen giving speeches before presenting the awards to winners.

Some of the other photos highlight the veterans’ achievements in sporting activities and a previously unseen picture of the royals posing alongside nominees and guests at a pre-ceremony reception.

The couple captioned the snaps: “Spotlight on: Endeavour Fund. Today we’re taking a look back at the amazing work done by the Endeavour Fund, an organisation created by The Duke of Sussex to support the Armed Forces community.”

“His Royal Highness was motivated by the ambitions of wounded, injured and sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans across the UK, who wanted to use sport and adventurous activity as part of their recovery. And what they choose to take on is extraordinary!”

The charity appears to be one close to Harry’s heart and included a quote from the royal.

“As The Duke said, ‘The magic of the Endeavour Fund is that it enables those who had life-changing injuries in their prime, many of whom felt defeated, to use the power of sport to find a new purpose’.”

Despite being on holiday, Meghan continues to lend support to causes that are important to her and shared a pre-recorded message last week for the launch of the Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation.

Uyinene was the University of Cape Town student who was brutally raped and murdered at a post office in Cape Town in August. Her death triggered country­wide protests and made headlines around the world. The aim of the foundation is to commemorate her life and continue the fight against gender-based violence in South Africa.

Harry and Meghan continue to work with various charities. The duke carried out his last public engagement at the OnSide Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London at the end of last month, reports Hello!.

The duchess was last seen in public attending the Remembrance Sunday service with the rest of the royals.
