Cape Town - Hollywood A-lister, Angelina Jolie couldn’t hold back the waterworks as she escorted her 18-year-old son to his university in South Korea.

The 44-year-old mother of six recently accompanied her eldest son, Maddox, to Seoul where he’ll be studying life science and biotechnology at the city’s prestigious Yonsei University.

The proud mom couldn’t help but get emotional as she bid him farewell, Metro reports.

"I leave today, I’m trying not to cry," the Maleficent star can be heard saying in clips shared by an Instagram user while she was with Maddox.

Apparently, Maddox is quite the student and had no trouble getting into several institutions. "He got accepted to other universities but chose Yonsei," a source told PEOPLE.

"He’s been studying the Korean language. He has lessons multiple times a week to prepare."
