After pictures of Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin sobbing in each others’ arms surfaced last week, fans were devastated. Was there trouble in paradise for the star-crossed lovers?

But the Sorry hitmaker (24) has put their legions of fretting fans at ease.

According to TMZ, the Biebs was looking far cheerier when he was spotted leaving fiancée Hailey’s apartment in New York the next day, when he implied he and his bride-to-be (21) had just had a “bad day”.

“You’ve got good days, and you got bad days. It’s not real if it doesn’t have bad days.”

He was actually quoting a book he was toting around – The Meaning of Marriage by Timothy and Kathy Keller.

Clearly, the No Brainer singer is doing his homework before getting hitched.

According to People, their “bad day” simply came down to the fact that Justin was “just learning how to deal with his overwhelming feelings” for Hailey.

“Justin being emotional has nothing to do with him not being happy. It’s the opposite. He is the happiest he has ever been,” a source told the publication.

“He wonders if he deserves the happiness, and that’s partly why he is emotional.”

It’s certainly been a whirlwind romance for Justin and Hailey, a model and TV presenter, who got engaged in the Bahamas in July.

Justin confirmed the exciting news in a gushing Instagram post.

"Was gonna wait a while to say anything but word travels fast, listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindly."
