Cape Town - Unlike many celebrity marriages, theirs is a love story that has stood the test of time. Now, in honour of their 10th wedding anniversary, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have shared a romantic video of their special day.
On Thursday the much-loved TV show host (60) gave us a glimpse into her fairytale wedding to the former actress.
The lovebirds first met in 2000 reports E! Online. The couple then reunited at VH1’s Big in ’04 awards and then met again at a photo shoot in 2005.
"I really never stopped thinking about her, because I just haven't felt that kind of energy with anyone in my life," Portia (45) said. "She took my breath away."
"It’s the first time that I've known in every cell of my being that I’m with somebody for the rest of my life," Ellen told People magazine.
They finally tied the knot on 16 August 2008, with the self-help author and motivational speaker Wayne Dyer performing the honours.
Ellen shared a picture on Instagram with a caption saying: "Ten years ago, Wayne Dyer officiated our wedding ceremony. These words were life-changing to us then, and they mean just as much now."
