new years eve partying

2018 is pretty much over and whether it’s been a tough one, a great one or even one you’d like to forget, one thing’s for sure: the end of each year calls for a celebration of what’s past and what’s to come.

While many may be rushing to the coast to spend their holidays at the beach, others are sticking around in a much quieter and less bustling Johannesburg.

So if it’s a New Year’s Eve boogie you’re after, here’s our pick of parties happening around Joburg to give your 2018 a proper send-off.

NYE Movie CampOut

If it’s more of a chilled vibe you’re after then the Picnics in the Park camp-out movie night at Riversands Farm is perfect for a quiet family night out.

Bring your own picnic supplies, with alcohol and soft drinks available from the #PiP Bar. The relaxed and family-oriented vibe from afternoon into evening will make for a suitably chilled and safe New Year’s Eve.
