The Alternative Golden Globes

Awards Season 2013 is in full swing!

It's time to root for our favourite movies, albums and TV shows while we ooh and aah at all the gorgeous (and hideous) dresses as well as the best and worst acceptance speeches and hosting gigs. Plus, we've got everything wrapped up in one neat little package for you so you don't miss out on a single thing - check out our Awards Central Special Report.

The Golden Globes took place on Sunday and the real winners were Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for their roles as the wonderfully funny, natural and adorable hosts. Watch their cute opening speech here.

If you missed the broadcasts, check out the full list of winners here plus take a stroll through the red carpet gallery and scrutinise like you're a Project Runway judge.

To mix things up, we've got a few nods of our own to hand out.

Most Interesting Acceptance Speech
Jodie Foster
While many people still think this is the first time she's come out on stage as a gay woman, it's not, and that's not why this speech is special. It's because she lays herself bare – her personal love and life, her professional fears and her distaste for reality TV. It was totally real and vulnerable.

Best Presenting  Duo (after Tina and Amy)
Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell are flawless as the hosts who know nothing about the movies and actresses nominated in their category, but wax lyrical anyway.

Worst Presenting Duo
Kate Hudson and Bradley Cooper
They followed Tina and Amy's great opening speech and didn't even share a joke or a flash a boob. Poor form.

Best Line
Jennifer Lawrence – "I beat Meryl!"

Best Dress
Jennifer Lawrence was definitely a girl on fire in that red hot number.

Worst Dress
Halle Berry's patchwork, mix 'n match disaster showed too much skin and too little taste.

Surprise Star
HFPA president Aida Takla O'Reilly for her cheeky, dry humour and candid flirting with Bradley Cooper. You go, girlfriend!

Best Accent
Homeland's Damian Lewis sounds like he's actually on Downton Abbey with that sophisticated British accent. Swoon!

Best Beard
Phwoar Ben Affleck! Lose the razor forever and you’ll secure your position as the hottest DILF in Hollywood.

Best Scowl
Taylor Swift's look of disgust as Adele beat her in the category for best original song. Adele can expect a song about it on the next album.
