Who cares???

2013-06-18 14:46
So it’s a Saturday night, during a long weekend, and the news breaks that Kim Kardashian has just had her baby.

That’s five weeks too early!! We weren’t ready for this?!

But we handle it like pros, get the story together, do all the work and make sure we’ve got all our facts straight before we publish it. We go live with the story, share it with the world and the very first comment is; “who cares?”.

Not a good feeling

I’ve got to be honest; comments like those leave a sting - especially if you put in a lot of extra effort and hours. I totally agree that Kim’s baby news doesn’t need the CNN type coverage you see with other real breaking hard news stories, but does it really deserve that dreaded “who cares”?

Isn’t it our job to report on the birth of a celebrity’s child after everyone’s been following her pregnancy day by day?

Kim is most read

Maybe someone out there would be interested to know that the reality queen gave birth five weeks prematurely? Surely her fans would like to be kept updated?

How else would you explain that all our Kim stories always end up on the “most read” list on our website?

What’s most interesting about the “who cares” comment is that it always ends up at the bottom of an article – meaning the writer had to see the article, click on the link, scanned through the content and scrolled all the way down to make it known that they are not interested. Weird right?

Here’s some more “who cares” stories that’s totally worth the read:
