Every year on the last Saturday in March, the world celebrates Earth Hour! This year Earth hour will take place on Saturday 24th of March and lights out will be between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.
Earth Hour is one of the biggest movements to protect our planet over the past 11 years. Hundreds of millions of people from over 187 countries and territories around the planet take part in WWF's Earth Hour every year, and over 3 000 landmarks’ lights are switched off. This movement prompts us to not only abstain from using electricity for an hour, but also to protect our planet every day.
This year, WWF South Africa is also calling on business and government to actively begin creating a renewable energy future for our country’s power.
