Although difficult to find at first, you almost feel as if you have unearthed a treasure when you find Great Eastern Food Bar, above the Bamboo Centre in Melville. Although this location gives it some of the best views of the city, and adds to the ethereal and otherworldly elegance of the venue. This stylish, modern restaurant has the stylish and intimate look that is perfect for a quick lunch, dinner with friends, or even date night.
The restaurant serves Asian fusion meals that are made from scratch in full view of patrons at the open-plan bar-kitchen. The menu boasts interesting meals such as sashimi tacos, agedashi tofu, coconut rice and the delicious Korean fried chicken. Sharing is encouraged as well, with excellent choices available. And when it comes to dessert, their delicious chocolate mousse and wonton churros with salted caramel dipping sauce, are must haves.
When it comes to drinks, The Great Eastern Food Bar has an excellent wine list, as well as local and Asian beers, soju, cocktails, sake as well tasty home-made drinking vinegars with interesting flavours such as lemongrass and tamarind. We also recommend the delicious teas that they serve as well.
The excellent service is what welcomes you in, but the cuisine is what keeps you there, whether you are interested in dim sum, kimchi or mouth-watering bao buns, there is something to titillate your taste buds on the menu at The Great Eastern Food Bar.
