Inspired by real-life political scandals involving married men, this smash-hit drama series follows Alicia Florrick, wife of a disgraced state's attorney. She has to pick up the pieces of her family and revive her law career. The show has won a tonne of awards, including a Golden Globe and two Emmys for Julianna Margulies as Florrick. It’s been 20 years, but The Sopranos is as brilliant as ever. Binge Seasons 1-6. For another “greatest of all time” series, watch five seasons of HBO’s The Wire - TV just doesn’t get grittier than this.
If you came of age in the Noughties, you’ll definitely want to catch up on all of Sex and the City (six seasons) plus all 10 seasons of Friends.
