Background, background, background... meets foreground
When it comes to backgrounds, you want to avoid the mundane, grey-toned and porta-potty options and go for vibrant stage sets and sculptures or backdrops that pop with colour and intrigue. Huawei’s P30 Pro has AI capabilities which, when enabled, will pick out the best camera option to capture the scenery and environment. From bluer skies to greener grass to vibrant purples – the P30 knows how to make colours pop.

To ensure your framing is working and your alignment is on par, Huawei’s P30 Pro, like many of its predecessor flagships, feature a camera grid you can enable in the camera settings to assist you in capturing and framing stunning festival shots.

The shadow and the light
Lighting sets the mood for your image. It is vital to capturing a well-lit, but not harshly or poorly lit #ootd (outfit-of-the-day) pic. The P30 Pro can help with its new smart technology that accounts for lighting by being able to brighten a poorly-lit image with both its default and night mode options. Not only can Huawei’s new flagship help brighten your images, but it also considers harsh backlighting or sunlight – allowing for vibrant and inviting shots in any lighting situation.

However, when it comes to night mode and truly low-light situations, you will have to steady yourself as night mode images need more time to adjust and process the lighting to brighten the image accordingly to bring you incredible shots.

Angles of the angels
As mentioned before - angles make or break an image. So, knowing the kind of pic you want will help you figure out the angle you need to take it at. With the P30 Pro’s zoom capabilities that range from wide angle to 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, 50x digital zoom as well as a super-macro lens allow you to get creative with your angles and phonetography. The Portrait and Aperture modes on the camera also allow you to play around with focus to create some stunning #ootd or glittery #motd (makeup-of-the day) shots.

Editing tools to make them pop
While the quality of the P30’s images are pretty great on their own, whether you opt for the default or pro mode, there are plenty of Huawei-friendly apps you can download to make your images and colours pop and add a moody filter aesthetic of your choice. Some notable ones include, Snapseed, Adobe Lightroom CC and VSCO – all allowing you to play with vibrancy, contrast, tones and the coveted grain element.
