As Meghan Markle takes on her role as Duchess of Sussex, her television role as Rachel Zane on the legal series Suits (Seasons 1 to 7 on Showmax) has come to an end. After seven seasons of ups and downs, we bid farewell to the paralegal-turned-lawyer who quickly crept into our hearts with her sassiness and sex appeal.

Between her rollercoaster relationship with Mike Ross and her rise in the ranks of Pearson Specter Litt, Rachel had some iconic moments that entertained and intrigued viewers since 2011. Let’s take a look back at some of the memories that made Rachel Zane such a beloved character.

1. When she schooled her class component (Season 6, Episode 3)

Rachel Zane proved just how badass she could be when she dug up dirt on her opponent before they were due for a mock trial at law school. She then sent her bratty rival straight back to her lane when she used the information to blackmail her into throwing the trial. Karma can be so sweet!

2. When she fought for her worth (Season 1, Episode 9)

Rachel found herself in hot water when she was accused of leaking crucial documents to a rival firm. After initially being fired by Louis Litt, partner at Pearson Specter Litt, she was found to be innocent and reinstated. She fought back by demanding a 10 percent raise and a full sponsorship to law school as compensation.

3. When she and Mike finally got together (Season 2, Episode 16)

After two seasons of sexual tension and back-and-forth, Rachel Zane and Mike Ross finally hooked up and it was well worth the wait! Agitated by Mike not writing a letter of recommendation for her to Harvard, Rachel finally confronted him in the file room and found out that he was a fraud. What ensued later were a few hot slaps and an even hotter love scene…

4. When she took on Jessica Pearson (Season 3, Episode 10)

In season 3, Rachel was left with a tough decision to make – either sign an affidavit saying she knew Mike’s secret or not sign it and see him get fired. Being the good lawyer that she was, she struck a deal with Pearson, signing the affidavit on condition that Pearson withdrew the rule permitting only Harvard graduates as employees. What a rockstar!

5. When she did the right thing on the Leonard Bailey case (Season 6, Episode 5)

In season 6, Rachel showed her mettle when she convinced her college professor to take on the Innocence Project case, in which her client, Leonard Bailey, was due for execution. She stood her ground and got the case reopened while convincing Bailey not to take the plea deal that was offered to him, getting him off death row and saving his life.
