Johannesburg - Smash-hit and Emmy Award-winning comedy Friends was consistently one of the top-ranked series worldwide. Even though the series has ended the show's popularity still hasn't died down.

1. Joey: How you doin’?

S4 E13 - The One with Rachel’s crush

This became the line that was Joey, so it’s hard to believe it appeared so late in the series. After this first time, when he’s explaining his pick-up technique to Rachel and Phoebe, it becomes one of the show’s best running gags.

2. Monica: Seven! Seven seven seven seven!

S4 E11 - The One with Phoebe’s Uterus

Monica’s sex advice for Chandler means we can’t hear the number “Seven” spoken aloud without wondering what exactly she drew on that notepad.

3. Ross: You’re over me? When you were … under me?

S2 E7 - The One Where Ross Finds Out

Checking his messages (on a landline! So 90s!) at Rachel’s apartment, Ross hears the words that almost get him and Rachel together.

4. Ross: WE WERE ON A BREAK!

S3 E17 - The One Without the Ski Trip

This is probably the most repeated line on Friends - and the one that kept Ross and Rachel from ever getting back together. (Well, maybe not ever …) This was the first time he said it to Rachel, but it was far from the last.

5. Rachel: Sorry I’m late, but I left late.

S5 E9 - The One With Ross’s Sandwich

Rachel breezing into a night-school class after it had started and delivering this totally unapologetic apology to Phoebe is not one of the show’s most iconic lines, but it is so effective because it is just so Rachel.

6. Rachel: Just so you know, it’s not that common, it doesn’t happen to every guy, and it is a big deal!

S4 E1 - The One With the Jellyfish

And just when it looked like Ross and Rachel might be able to overcome the “We were on a break”/”We were NOT on a break” disagreement, it rears its ugly head again and Rachel gets back at Ross with this scorcher.

7. Phoebe: She’s your lobster.

S2 E14 - The One with the Prom Video

Phoebe gives this offbeat advice to Ross to tell him not to give up on Rachel, miming two old lobsters walking around their tank holding claws.

Chandler: Was that place THE SUN?

S10 E3 - The One With Ross’s Tan

In one of the most brilliantly slapstick episodes of all 10 seasons, this is the hysterical one with Ross’s repeated epic fails in a spray-tan booth.

S9 E6 - The One With the Male Nanny

Chandler gets jealous when Monica tells him that Geoffrey, a guy at work, is the funniest man she’s ever met. He tells her to get Geoffrey to email him his funniest jokes. 10. Rachel: I got off the plane
