First Top 10 Idols contestant eliminated

At the results show on Tuesday night, the 25-year-old events organiser had an opportunity to sing for the judges one last time in the hope that she would be saved, but the judges decided against using their one save vote this early in the competition.

A poll of Idols 6’s official radio partners around the country revealed that most listeners predicted this week’s results correctly. Gail's performance of P!nk's Please Don't Leave Me garnered the least amount of support from the viewers.

Three female contestants received the lowest number of votes. Gail was joined in the bottom three by Jess Yallup and Jamie-Lee Sexton, who have both been Idols contestants in previous seasons. Jamie-Lee also ended up in the bottom three in her Top 14 round.

The Parlotones performed their radio hit Push Me To The Floor at the live results show, and the Top 9 contestants will open for the band on the second leg of their World Tour at Montecasino in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.

The Top 9 will perform in a disco-themed spectacular this week where Flash Republic singer Tamara Dey will perform guest judge duties.

Idols airs Sundays on M-Net at 17:30.
