First two Idols contestants eliminated

2010-08-25 07:48

In the first Tuesday night results show of the season, the first group of seven were cut down to five, who will become part of the top 10 group.

Host ProVerb announced the bottom three contestants - S'Posh Petshwa, Sindi Nnene and Peter Grobler - before announcing the eliminations. The Eastern Cape diva S'Posh and the youngest of the finalists, Peter, are out of the running for the Idols title.

Judge Randall Abrahams said that he would save Sindi if he had a say in the outcome, and his words rang true as she was safe.

As is standard in the American Idol shows, the judges will have one opportunity to save a contestant between the top 10 and top four rounds, and the decision should be unanimous.

SA pop rock band Prime Circle (as lead singer Ross Learmonth was Sunday night's guest judge) performed their latest single during the show, and Lizé Heerman, a Top 8 finalist from last year's Idols competition, performed her radio hit Do You Love Me

This Sunday the second group of seven finalists will perform to garner the public's votes. The guest judge this week is legendary vocalist Judith Sephuma.

S’Posh Petshwa and Peter Grobler received the lowest number of votes for their Sunday night performances. publishes all comments posted on articles provided that they adhere to our Comments Policy.
