One of these 17 singers will be the next winner of Idols SA

Johannesburg – Reality singing competition Idols SA narrowed down their search for the country's next superstar on Sunday and revealed the top 17.  

Thousands of hopefuls auditioned to be the next Mzansi Idol for season 15, and it has been a gruelling journey for those that remain. 

From mass auditions to an intense Theatre Week that included group and solo performances.  

MEET THE TOP 17 THAT WILL PERFORM LIVE TO IMPRESS YOU FOR YOUR VOTES: 

Andy Keys (20), from Embalenhle Secunda, auditioned in Pretoria. He adores Somizi's fashion sense, and he appreciates Ringo Madlingozi's music. He also appreciates the fact that they both have one thing in common, 'a gap in their front teeth'.

Andy believes that what sets him apart from the other contestants is that he is shy.

Nolo (26) is from the northern township of Soshanguve and auditioned in his home city, the capital of Amapiano, Tshwane. When asked who he would kiss, marry or ghost amongst the judges, he said he would marry Unathi, kiss SomGaga and definitely ghost Randall. He believes that his smile is the best feature he's got. He is also ready to give a helping hand. If Nolo wins, he is planning on travelling and exploring a few African countries. Now, this is being Pan African on another level!

Luyolo (24), was born in Buffalo River. He wishes he had superpowers and could multiply objects so that he could reproduce money and help those in need. Winning the show for Luyolo would be about showing appreciation to everyone who supported him.

Mmangaliso (24) travelled more than 550km to audition in Johannesburg, and she got four nods and was ready to move to the next stage of the competition. She is from Ladysmith, in KwaZulu-Natal. She believes that her most significant personality trait is her kindness. If she wins the competition, she is going to have a victory dinner with family and friends.

Sizwe Hlatshwayo (27), Mpumalanga is the home of some of the Idols SA winners, Musa and Karabo. Sizwe is also from the Home of the Rising Star, in Emalahleni. The singer's favourite superhero is Iron Man.

Craig Jordaan (21), is from Elsies River, Cape Town. He won a singing competition a few years ago, and he had to write a song for himself. To get here, Craig has improved a lot. One of the judges told him that he has got everything, but he must start believing in himself.

Sneziey (25) is from Umlazi, Durban and describes herself as warm-hearted and respectful of other people's crafts. She wants to win this competition so she can create a better life for herself and her grandmother. Her first yes was from Randall, and that was a good start for her to grab a golden ticket.

Zia (19) is from Manenberg, Cape Town and is returning to the competition. She was part of Idols Season 13, which was won by Paxton. She comes back older and wiser and ready to go all the way to the top.

Louise (29) is from Strandfontein, Cape Town and is a seasoned performer. This was her first-time auditioning. She is the second eldest contestant of the 2019 Idols competition.

Virginia (22) is from Stanger, Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. She was joined on stage with her twin sister Viggy and serenaded the judges. The guest judge, Vusi Nova, told the twins that they made his day. She and her twin sister were given four emphatic yeses by the judges.

Viggy (22), is also from Stinger, Durban in KwaZulu-Natal and doesn't want to be separated from her sister, Virginia. The pair like to dress alike too, and have similar dreams of winning the competition.

Innocentia (30) is from Khuma, Stilfontein in the North West Province. She has already swapped the classroom for a mic, the stage and a dream to be the Idols SA season 15 winner.

Nqobile (21) is from Kwamashu, Durban. She collapsed on stage during the season 12 auditions. Unathi remembered her immediately and commended her for her bravery to come back on stage, calling her 'an inspiration'. She lives up to her name which means 'victor', and she has overcome her fears.

Xola (21) is from Cape Town and one of the few people who got positive feedback from Randall Abrahams. The judge told Xola that she could win season 15. Now, that is a serious confidence booster!

Treasure (23) is from Durban, and his style icon is Michael Jackson. Treasure loves pop music, and his favourite colour is pink.

Micayla Lee (18) is from Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape and the youngest contestant for season 15. She is a golden ticket winner. She has been consistent, and the judges have been happy with her through the audition stages.

Dinky (22) is from Joburg and has a lot of experience in music. The vocalist from a working band travelled to the capital city, Pretoria to give it a try one more time. That is what we call determination!
