WATCH: 4 top performances from last night's episode of 'Idols SA'

Cape Town – We're inching closer to the Idols SA grand finale this week the top 4 gave it their all to secure a place in the top 3, and a trip to New York.

The theme this week was a trip down memory lane with their favourite hits from their high school days as well as their parents' favourites from their high school days.

It was a week of all-round excellent performances, though with some words of caution from the judges.

With two performances each, we list our favourites of the evening.

NOLO – LAZY SONG

The singer turned up the charm with his performance of this popular Bruno Mars song. We have to agree with the judges though; he has to up the ante next week.

MICAYLA – DANGEROUS WOMAN

The 18-year-old didn't fare so well with her first performance. The Roxette song was too big for her. She made a comeback her second song putting a spin on it that even Ariana Grande would approve.

WATCH IT HERE:

LUYOLO – OMG

OMG is how we would describe this performance! As Randall said, who is this guy? Luyolo has been improving consistently and has shown the most growth throughout this competition. Both of his songs were executed well and showed different sides of him as a performer.

WATCH IT HERE:

SNEZIEY - UMUNTU NGABANTU

With this performance, it was showstopper round two for Sneziey as she showcased her dance moves and vocals. It got high praise from Somizi, with a 'whoo shem'.
