11 pictures that capture the Idols Cape Town auditions

Cape Town – Channel24 had an exciting day at the Idols season 11 auditions that took place at the Grand West Arena on Saturday.

The amateur singers came in their thousands, and waited in line to show the judges what they've got to be the next Idol.

We spent the morning getting to know some of your potential superstars, some of them daring in style and confidence; others quietly focused as they waited in line.

Here are 11 interesting people we met along the way:

1. Lindsay Thomas

"I believe I have what it takes to make a difference in our country."

2. Thindi Mzr

"I think I got the talent, the voice, I think South Africa is ready for me."

Ashwin Ferlander

"I've been singing since I was 16, I'm 21 now, I feel like I am ready."

4. Juilian Josephs

"I feel like I might have something they like. But it's up to them."

5. Akhona Bizela

"I love him."

7. Jaunelle Staunton & Jamie Lee Nell

"It's my dream to become a musician. My parents and friends told me I could sing."

"My passion is to sing. It's my dream. I just want to get far in life with it."

8. Bela Pechi

"My mom makes onesies. I thought I'd wear one to promote them. I also love Pikachu."

9. Dean Van

"I entered because I got a motivational message from my girlfriend."

10. Yaseen Alleso; Roxanne Meyer and Lualle Wessels

"We're just here for the gees."

11. Addur Rahim

"I got the moves and the voice."
