They keep their audience glued to their TV screens every night and are characters we love to hate.

From their constant scheming to their deadly plans for our favourite characters, these villains always have us wondering what they’ll get up to next.

Here are five local television villains we really should hate but we can’t help but love.

Mining mogul Lindiwe Dikana, played by Sindi Dlathu will do everything to protect her business and remove anyone who might be in her way.

She recently lost her last born Mbali who was killed by her firstborn daughter Tumi. Tumi tampered with the brakes of one of Lindiwe’s cars with the hopes that Lindiwe drives it, but the car was unfortunately driven by Mbali who later lost control of the car and died.

Lindiwe refuses to believe Tumi killed Mbali ever since being able to have a relationship with her. Now, she is willing to torment anyone she believes killed her daughter.

Mangcobo played by Thandeka Dawn King on Uzalo – the most watched TV show in Mzansi.

Mangcobo’s evil ways have been the subject of discussion on social media with viewers wondering what she’ll do next.

Recently, the villain made her ex-husband crazy and got him admitted into a mental institution. Nkunzi had put a love potion on Mangcobo so that she can submit to him, but she later found out and went on to talk to a sangoma to make it not work on her.

Boniswa Langa, played by Lusanda Mbane, had a complete character change when she moved from a good mother to her two children and good wife, to being ruthless.

She currently has an old enemy who is trying to get everything he believes he deserves but she doesn’t know that he is the reason everything else is not going well for her.

Lerato played by Samkelo Ndlovu has been the female villain we’ve all needed on Rhythm City. Although she is now leaving the show, she has been a fan favourite for years and many fans are sad to see her go.

Recently she played David Genaro by acting as his ally to trap him into his death.

She worked with Khulekani and Suffocate, David’s biggest enemies, and took David to a deserted building to get him killed.

Harriet Khoza, played by Connie Ferguson, will do anything to protect her family and their drug business.

A fan favourite from the beginning, she has been ruthless but fans just can’t get enough.

In the very first episode of the show, Harriet had her husband killed – and it’s been one shady dealing after another since then to hide her murderous ways.
