5 new shows to look forward to on BBC

Johannesburg - BBC Studios gave a sneak peek of their hot winter line-up at their annual upfront on Tuesday night.

The studio showcased new and returning shows for the BBC channels: Lifestyle (DStv 174), Brit (120), First (119) and Earth (184).

Here are 5 new shows to look forward to:

DYNASTY

This new nature documentary follows individual animals including: Lions, hunting dogs, chimpanzees, tigers and emperor penguins. These animals were filmed over the course of four years and follows the animals as they protect their family, territory and dynasty.

Sir David Attenborough will present the five part series.

RIVIERA

Julia Stiles (Save The Last Dance) stars in this new drama.

Set in the French Riviera, the series follows Georgina Clios (Stiles), an art curator who becomes caught up in the world of crime when her husband dies in a yacht accident.

TIN STAR

Tim Roth plays Jim Worth a former London undercover detective who relocates his family to a small town in the Canadian Rockies where he becomes the new police.

When his family is rocked by a tragedy old secrets start to surface. And Jim might not be the person people think he is.

SAVE ME

Written, created and starring Lennie James (Fear the Walking Dead), Save Me follows Nelson (James), a man whose life is turned upside down when his estranged 13-year-old daughter mysteriously disappears.

RICK STEIN'S ROAD TO MEXICO

Rick embarks on a culinary trip documenting the good and culture from San Francisco to Oaxaca in Mexico.

The series is inspired by a journey he made in the late 60s.
