5 things you need to know about Apple TV+ coming to South Africa

Cape Town – Apple has finally joined the video subscription service business.

In March the company first announced their plans to relaunch their service with A-listers such as Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg and Jennifer Aniston on board.

More details about the service were announced on Tuesday at the iPhone event where they unveiled the iPhone 11.

Here are 5 things you need to know:

1. WHEN IT WILL LAUNCH

The service will launch on Friday, 1 November in America and 100 countries, including South Africa.

2. HOW MUCH IT WILL COST

A monthly subscription will cost $4.99 (R73.17).

3. HOW TO USE THE SERVICE

It will be available on the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch, Mac and other platforms, including online at tv.apple.com in Safari, Chrome and Firefox, with a 7-day free trial.

4. WHAT YOU CAN WATCH

At launch, most Apple TV+ series will premiere with three episodes, with one new episode to roll out every week. Full seasons of some series will be available all at once.

Original series include The Morning Show starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell.

A drama series, See starring Jason Momoa and Alfred Woodard. Hailee Seinfield as the poet Emily Dickinson in a coming-of-age story. And a series starring Oprah Winfrey.

5.  MORE NEW SHOWS COMING

Apple will be adding new shows in the month after the launch including a series by M. Night Shyamalan and a drama series starring Octavia Spencer and Aaron Paul.

A true-life feature film starring Anthony Mackie and Samuel L. Jackson, and a movie produced by Jada Pinkett Smith.
