Our weekend viewing guide has something for everyone from bands battling it out, to a cheesy Christmas movie, to vampires, to the Jumanji sequel.

1) The X Factor: The Band

Friday, 13 and Saturday, 14 December

The spin-off series follows up-and-coming girl and boy bands who compete to be crowned Britain’s new pop sensation, with Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger returning as judges. The show is bidding to create the next big girl or boyband, in just a matter of weeks!

2) A Cinderella Christmas

Saturday, 14 December

Angie works hard to run her uncle's events business while her cousin Candace takes the credit. When Angie takes a night off to have fun at the Christmasquerade Ball, the mask and gown allow her to let loose, and she quickly catches the eye of Nicholas, a wealthy local bachelor.

3) Untold Stories of Hip Hop

Monday, 16 December

Legendary radio show host Angie Martinez is famous for her in-depth interviews in which she often gets her subjects to reveal never-before-told secrets about their private lives and careers. This fascinating series, which she produces, sees her get some of hip-hop’s biggest names to spill the tea about the industry, and their lives.

4) Brides, Grooms and Emergency Rooms

DStv Now

From being held at gunpoint to a bride going blind. Couples relate their tales of strange wedding mishaps that led them to the emergency room instead of the alter on their special day.

5) Mrs Fletcher

Showmax

Kathryn Hahn stars as Eve, a divorcee whose son just left home for college in HBO’s limited series. A frustrated Eve tries to build a life of her own and experiences a personal and sexual awakening, a journey which starkly coincides with her teenage son’s coming-of-age.

6) V Wars

Netflix

Dr. Luther Swann (Ian Somerhalder) enters a world of untold horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes), into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans. As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps pitting normal people against the growing number of these "vampires."

Jumanji: The Next Level

The gang is back, but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect.
