Africa's first hotshot crowned!

Johannesburg – After 63 days and surviving eliminations the last two housemates Idris and Tayo took to the stage for a nail biting grand finale.

At the live finale the tension could be felt as both contestants waited for the announcement.

In what was a landslide win the Tanzanian local Idris was crowned the winner and is now $ 300 000 (R3 410 409) richer.

It’s clear that Idris not only charmed the ladies in the house, but also Africa.

We chatted to him about his stay in the house, the relationships he made and what he plans to spend the money on.

Channel24:
Did you at any point during your stay in the house think you would win? And why do you think Africa voted for you?

Idris:
I really thought that I would make it to the top five, winning; I wasn’t that sure about. I knew I had the character and personality to make it to top five but not winning it. I just said I’m going to put myself in the hands of Africa and I did and they voted for me. I think they voted for me because I was real, I was myself and everyone could relate and connect with me.

Channel24:
What was the highlight and lowlight of your stay in the house?

Idris:
All of them were bad! I have a low light and a lowest light. The lowlight was my fight with Goitshe and the lowest light is when I kicked the door.

Channel24:
What do you plan on doing with the money?

Idris:
I haven’t figured out just yet what I will be doing with it. I feel that I have to give back to Africa, not give the money but give power, energy, strength and motivation. I want Africa to know that I am grateful that I won and that this money should not just benefit me but everyone. They played a big part in me winning so I have to change many lives.

Channel24:
You became close with a few ladies in the house, who do you plan on staying in touch with?

Idris:
(Laughs) I plan on staying in touch with a lot of them. I’d like to build on the connections I made. I have no hard feelings about anything and what they said when they left the house. It doesn’t really matter all that matters is what I feel for them and I want to continue the friendships made.

Channel24:
Now that you’re out of the house what’s next for you?

Idris:
Right now I want to take a hot shower and watch a movie. (laughs) I don’t have any plans for when I return home. The first plan is to just chill let everything just sink in and to not rush into anything, if I do I think I could make the wrong decisions. I plan to relax and just let things happen.
