Los Angeles – Glee's showrunner Ryan Murphy tweeted on Wednesday night that the Golden Globe winning musical series will be welcoming American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert to its cast next season.
The series follows the ups and downs of a group of teenagers who sing and dance in their high school's Glee club and are obsessed with going to regionals.
Two weeks ago Deadline announced that Glee will be doing a cast reshuffle with some Glee regulars like Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck) and Harry Shum Jr (Mike) leaving the show and minor cast members like Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake) and Blake Jenner (Ryder) being promoted to the main cast.
Glee will return for its fifth season in September.

Lambert was the runner-up in the eight season of the famous music competition and went on to become one of the most successful American Idol contestants, topping charts with hits like Whataya Want From Me and If I Had You and also receiving a Grammy nomination. Before the fame, Lambert had pursued a career in theatre which makes him perfect for a role on Glee.I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall.
