Johannessburg - Bonang Matheba was named Best South African DJ at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards ceremony that took place at The Forum in Los Angeles, reports City Press.

Dressed in a beautiful black and multicoloured dress by Gert Johan Coetzee, South Africa’s Queen B announced on Twitter:

Matheba beat out 94.7 DJ Whackead Simpson and 5fm’s Poppy Ntshongwana with more votes to take home the honours.

Last week, Matheba lost out on the Best Presenter prize at the South African Film and Television Awards, with the versatile Katlego Maboe emerging the winner, but she can now add the orange Nickelodeon blimp and recognition from the international channel to her mantelpiece and resumé.

The popular media personality also thanked her team saying:

Bonang is expected to return to her Metro FM nine to noon radio show on Wednesday 1 April, following her return from Los Angeles.

The model, TV and radio presenter, and ambassador for various brands including Revlon, Cîroc, Woolworths, and Magnum star continues to rise, and she’ll be jetting off to Morocco soon, at the invitation and as a guest of the King of Morocco, where she will once again represent South Africa at a conference he is hosting.
