DStv on Demand comes to iPad

Cape Town – DStv on Demand, MultiChoice's catch-up streaming service currently available via the South African satellite operator's DStv decoders and desktop, is now available on the iPad, it was announced on Thursday.

The new mobile service inches the pay-TV service closer to what comparable overseas operators have been offering subscribers the past few years.

MultiChoice is rolling out a DStv on Demand iPad app through which DStv subscribers are now able to watch select TV programming which they might have missed over the seven days since broadcast.

Android version

DStv On Demand is only available to those with a Premium DStv subscription.

Through the free DStv iPad app, subscribers can get access to over 450 hours of TV series, movies, sport highlights and kids' programming by logging in with a DStv Connect ID to gain access to the content.

MultiChoice told MyBroadband in November that an Android version of the app will also be available in the near future.

The new service requires an internet connection and MultiChoice recommends that subscribers, when using the DStv iPad app, make use of a wi-fi connection or uncapped internet since the viewing of TV shows can guzzle up large amounts of data quickly.

The new DStv iPad app is available - for free - via Apple's iTunes App Store.
