And those of us that are premium subscribers get what out of this deal ? anyway , for the rest enjoy.

      Epinette Khumalo - 2013-07-19 14:53

I think we the premium subscribers should get a refund for those channels (Open Weekend)....

      John Smith - 2013-07-19 19:27

I agree, what do the premium subscribers get?

      Don Smart - 2013-07-20 16:10

We pay for real nonsense on DStv. Rubbish in fact. Most of our programmes are about 10 years old or at least at the minimum mostly outdated and boring. 10% worthwhile 90% rubbish. If you don't take out the premium package @ R625 pm as well, A LOT TO PAY PER MONTH for any household, you may as well just have SABC TV or rent a movie from your local video store. What is their income p/m ? enormous ! This is true monopoly and no competition. I don't watch this rubbish but we have no alternative option in SA if ones wants something for ones family. Allow competition please ICASA and even support it !

  • GayAtheistEffUN24 - 2013-07-19 11:28

So me, as a premium subscriber, get nothing free? In fact, 3 of my channels don't work. And i get told it is not DSTV's problem, i need to spend more money taking the decoder in to be checked, seeing as DSTV customer care don't know jack, and don't help. No wonder they recommend self-service... they know mos that their people are incompetent.

      Andrea Tomasicchio - 2013-07-19 13:31

I have the same problem! The call centre its not DSTV's problem and I must have my decoder checked. Don't we spend enough as it is!!!

      GayAtheistEffUN24 - 2013-07-19 13:34

Lol do they care? Naspers group doesn't really give a sh*t about anything except profit

      Angela Fritz - 2013-07-19 13:51

I have exactly the same problem, so I did a rescan, now I don't get MNET or any of the movie channels. It is so frustrating. All they said to me is "you have to bring the decoder in". Apparently with all of their Signal Upgrades, certain decoders software needs a 'flash reset'. How short-sighted are these people? Their call centre services is terrible, the guy had no idea what I was talking about. Tired of them

      Epinette Khumalo - 2013-07-19 14:55

I have the same problem, I even went and bought the new PVR but still the issue is not resolved.

      Springbok Rsa - 2013-07-20 15:20

To all complaining premium subscribers on this forum... if you are stupid enough to pay for the Multirepeat (registered name Multichoice) service, don't complain man. By now you should have seen all those repeats already. Rather, get off your ass and take the dogs for a walk on the beach. If you live in Gauteng, remember to carry a gun as well. Or do some other real stuff

      Anthony Kirby - 2013-07-20 17:46

If you have the dual aerial for the pvr. Check the aerial connections going into the Decoder. Check that the wire has not been pulled out of the connection a bit. I had the same thing 3 weeks ago and the Good lady at Multi choice in Goodwood tested my decoder and the wires were the problem

      Jaap Kotze - 2013-07-20 18:53

Get a a good installer to check you installation.

  • Tommy Jones - 2013-07-19 11:41

DSTV, do you have a package for, and how much will it cost: All Supersport, BBC Knowledge, Discovery, Animal Planet, History Channel, CBeebies and Disney Junior? News I'll get from E-TV thanks. Anyway, these are the only channels we watch in our house and I think it is unfair billing me every month for e.g. African channels (i don't understand), repeats, reality channels, extra music channels, old movies I've seen before.

      Tommy Jones - 2013-07-19 12:15

And don't get me started on the Big Brother, Idols, X Factor and similar programs. If I wanted to waste time, I will stare at my fish tank.

      GayAtheistEffUN24 - 2013-07-19 13:34

Ja, who the hell actually watches that Big Brother shyte?

  • Tracy Sherwood - 2013-07-19 11:43

Oh Great more channels with more repeats repeats and more repeats!!!! And whoppee I get some of those channels on the package I have, how about some of the new channels!

  • Phumlani Loliwe - 2013-07-19 12:16

How about we(premium subscribers) get a discount for one month, say maybe 50%?

      GayAtheistEffUN24 - 2013-07-19 13:45

Haha oh gosh, that would be wishful thinking.

      Ms-Leri Lerato Toto-Molefe - 2013-07-19 23:08

I don't think Premiums should complain you're getting your moneys worth... Go to Top TV then, or just us on compact

  • Phillip du Plessis - 2013-07-19 12:25

Dstv should bring out a new bouquet namely Dstv Freedom....where you can choose your own channels and pay for them accordingly, instead of paying for channels you don't even watch....

      Tommy Jones - 2013-07-19 12:30

      Hear hear!

      Monica van der Merwe - 2013-07-19 13:19

I totally agree with you - we also only watch at the most say 5 channels. Like you said let us only pay for the channels we watch.

      Robin Arendse - 2013-07-19 14:52

And what about all those music channels most homes don't use. But awesome for the compact clients.

      Rashid Mtoro - 2013-07-19 21:41

Wise thinking. Does their sales department think like you? Let them change and heed our demands as customers

  • Alison Job - 2013-07-19 12:32

An attempt to divert attention from the Series debacle, methinks.

  • Ms-Leri Lerato Toto-Molefe - 2013-07-19 13:18

Oh that's nice(-_-) no movie or Mnet series channels how lovely u_u

  • nkululeko.zulu.5 - 2013-07-19 13:33

Thanx DSTV We ReaLly Appreciate it!!

  • Bretton Eveleigh - 2013-07-19 13:43

So I can expect a rebate on my dstv premium account this month... nice!

  • Gail Dorothy Struwig-Kember - 2013-07-19 14:20

GREAT SO WE CAN SEE IF WE WANT TO UPGRADE THANKS DSTV

  • Kopano Matlala - 2013-07-19 14:24

This must be escalated! it doesnt make sense, DSTV take note! What u do on the left is what u do on the right! So rebate it is!

  • Munnik Van Rooyen Vorster - 2013-07-19 14:33

Thank you. I surely will enjoy it this weekend.

  • Winifred Watson - 2013-07-19 14:41

Why dont they up their service on the premium...like no repeats. Gosh how many times have we got to suffer repeats on Two and half men, House, Law and Order, they just finish a run and it starts from the beginning again, repeats repeats repeats. Premium subscribers should not be subject to repeats, once the series is finished we dont see it EVER again. Same with the movie channel, how old are some of those movies, get with the times.

  • Pat Ranape - 2013-07-19 14:46

what. happen from Monday. then. 21/07/2013. ?

  • Lois Lloyd - 2013-07-19 14:52

Why are the BBC channels so full of repeats? Not much has changed on these channels in the last few years. Instead we get local stuff which is generally so inferior.

  • Mokgoko Harry Mogoboya - 2013-07-19 14:52

Please bring back the Radio and Music channels.

  • Lois Lloyd - 2013-07-19 15:07

DSTV only look at ways they can attract new subscribers - couldn't give a flying f... about their existing subscribers.

  • John Nyagomo - 2013-07-19 15:46

Thanks DSTV. I hope your 'campaign' will continue till the end of the year!!!! Kkkkkkkkk....

  • John Nyagomo - 2013-07-19 15:48

Thanks DSTV. I hope your 'campaign' will run for the rest of the year. Kkkkkkkkkk....

  • Mervin Pietersen - 2013-07-19 16:15

thanks but no thanks, only selected channels, why don't you just keep it to yourself, I'm using Dstv Extra and have most of the so called selected channels

  • Dineo Dinney - 2013-07-19 16:25

mnet and AME is still locked, pls attend to my query urgently

  • Lucy Farmer - 2013-07-19 16:36

its crap channels they showing anyway. Whats the point? No movie channels hardly anything of interest. Its just a scam to get naive people to upgrade their packages.

  • Godfrey G-funk Kubheka - 2013-07-19 17:26

Next time please dont bother to inform us because we thought we will see all channels

  • Rashid Mtoro - 2013-07-19 21:32

  • Andre de Leeuw - 2013-07-20 07:08

  • Monica Mihle Mazeka Cebisa - 2013-07-20 16:26

need your help guys on this , cant wait to enjoy other channels

  • Jaap Kotze - 2013-07-20 18:58

If you are not able to watch all the channels in the bouquet you are paying for, you have a faulty or partially faulty installation!

  • Shirley Bisschoff - 2013-07-20 23:03

Always thought the best model was for subscribers to pick and only pay for those they want. You'd have far more subscribers, and probably happier ones too.

      Dylan Fritz - 2013-07-21 00:38

Pick ur own channels nd mre custermers multichoice will hve in the future nd the pple who have dstv will be happy nd pay wat dy watching every month.
