Joan Collins wants a role in Dallas

Los Angeles - Joan Collins wants to star in Dallas.

The 79-year-old actress is keen for her scheming alter-ego Alexis Carrington - who she portrayed in rival 80s US soap opera Dynasty - to turn up in the show to cause trouble for the Southfork residents.

"I think it's a brilliant idea. It's a great idea. I love it," Joan told the Daily Star newspaper.

Dallas returned to the small screen this year after a 23-year absence, but it was dealt a huge blow last month when Larry Hagman - who was known for portraying evil oil baron JR Ewing - died.

The show, which has seen old favourites Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy return as well as the introduction of new talent such as Jesse Metcalfe and Kuno Becker, was screened on M-Net earlier this year.

Joan eager for Dynasty revival

The network recently confirmed JR will have a funeral on the show following Larry's passing.

A memorial will take place for the iconic character at some point within the show's next 15-episode series next month.

Joan recently admitted she would love to revive Dynasty and said fellow cast members Pamela Sue Martin, Jack Coleman and John James are "eager" to bring the show back.

"We would be eager to do it. Look at the success of Dallas," she explained.
