Johannesburg - From Morpheus to Madiba, Laurence Fishburne has played some epic characters. For his latest role in a BET mini-series, Laurence will play a young Nelson Mandela in the early 1960s where he deals with the political unrest in South Africa.
The six-hour mini-series simply titled Madiba is said to be released in 2016 and is based on two books written by Nelson Mandela; Conversations With Myself and Nelson Mandela By Himself.
The series’ executive producer is Kweku Mandela (Nelson Mandela’s grandson) and is directed by Prison Break’s Kevin Hooks.
