MasterChef SA hottie heads home

Cape Town - Another MasterChef SA model bites the dust.

Ilse Fourie handed in her apron on Tuesday's episode after a gruelling 12-hour pressure test.

The 32-year-old former lingerie model from Cape Town ended up in the bottom three with Sue-Ann and Khaya after a boerewors invention test.

Manisha and Sarel came out tops in the boerewors challenge while Food24's resident chef Caro de Waal was most impressed with Lungile's ostrich sausage.

Counting... lamb?

Ilse, Sue-Ann and Khaya had to prepare slow-roasted shoulder of lamb, terrine made from lamb shanks, vegetables, maxim potato and a red wine jus. These dishes would see them cook through the night - they had 12 hours.

Khaya's pregnancy willed her to sleep while Ilse struggled with the deboning of her lamb shoulder.

Sue-Ann eventually won the challenge, but the judges were impressed with all the dishes.

Unfortunately Ilse's overcooked lamb and under par potatoes left her in the lurch.

MasterChef SA airs on M-Net and M-Net HD on Tuesdays at 19:30.

No, all the whites are not gone, most of the good chefs has gone..this women (and a couple of others)has manged to hide behind team challenges and doing so dodging possible elimination..First time she's expected to do anything on her own..and there we have it. a South African who cannot slow roast lamb? She's a bit of a "reality series" groupie...

How fair is that! Some people can sleep while others have to do all the work and still get the finger how fair is that?????

      julie.vanniekerk.3 - 2012-06-20 08:16

And then the judges prefer raw meat to meat that is well done..... BULL!

      Well said Julie, what BS

      pieterduplessis - 2012-06-20 09:34

Was the test to see if you can stay awake or who can prepare the best meal? That should be the only question.

SA MasterChef judges do not know what they are talking about most of the can you let a piece of lamb with fat and looking as though it sat in the oven for 5 minutes to make it through to the next round???? and to top it all off , they said the Ilse's lamb was cooked to perfection but lacked shape?????HELLLLOOOOO , its about the taste not how it looks...ridiculous comments with absurd decisions... SA Masterchef what a shame...

If you paid attention to the show - her sauce was wrong, her potatoes weren't cooked properly and her lamb was over cooked, the only thing right on the plate was her tagine ! So basically she made more mistakes which was why she went home

      violet.bossut - 2012-06-20 13:39

      Well said Kim

      Love this

I like the show though and believe the contestants are judged on their cooking skills rather than their color. I like the judges to bits.

SA Master Chef is pathetic.... why can't we be original and not have to Copy Australia.....

      violet.bossut - 2012-06-20 13:41

Because the show is bought and that's the way it is.
