Our 5 favourite moments from the 2015 Emmy Awards

Cape Town- We woke up at 02:00 this morning so we could bring you the scoop on the 2015 Emmy Awards.

While everyone else was sleeping we were getting our Emmys on and man was it worth it!

Andy Samberg, who by the way looks smoking hot in a tux, was a perfect host as the show gave praise to the finest that TV has to offer.

We picked our 5 favourite moments from the show:

1) Viola Davis won her first Emmy:

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Viola Davis made her best actress speech; "The only thing that separates women of colour from anything else is opportunity."  She added; "You cannot win an Emmy for roles for things that are simply not there."

2) Jon Hamm’s ham:

It took 8 nominations before finally landing the Emmy for best actor in a drama for his role as Don Draper in Mad Men. “There’s been a mistake, clearly. It’s impossible to be named with all of those extraordinary gentlemen. It’s impossible to have done this show with this incredible cast, these incredible people, our incredible writers, our incredible crew,” Jon said after making a rather interesting entrance onto the Emmy stage.

3) Lady Gaga's glam moment:

Poised, beautiful and elegant. Lady Gaga truly shined at her first ever Emmys. Or as Andy introduced her; "She's a nice lady who's good at piano." "Although I love toasting to women, tonight I'm here for the men," Gaga said before she read out the nominees for lead actor in a limited series or movie.

4) Peter Dinklage’s win:

Being massive Game of Thrones fans it’s with great joy that we can announce that out of 24 Emmy nominations, GOT took home 12 awards! Peter Dinklage’s win and the absolute surprised look on his face was one of our favourite moments from the night.

5) Tracy Morgan’s speech:

It was a goosebumps moment when Tracy Morgan stepped on stage at the Emmys. The usually funnyman got serious for a few moments as he celebrated being able to attend this year’s awards after a horror car crash that left him in a coma for 8 days.  “When I finally regained consciousness, I was ecstatic to learn I wasn’t the one who messed up,” he joked. “Only recently I’ve started to feel like myself again.”
