Ridge leaving Bold and Beautiful

2012-08-13 10:59
Los Angeles – Ronn Moss is quitting his role as Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful after 25 years with the popular daytime soap, reports EW.com.

Moss, who played fashion magnate Ridge Forrester since the inception of the show in 1987, did not choose to renew his contract due to salary issues, according to EW.com.

Moss' exit was confirmed by Production company Bell Phillip Television in a statement: "Ronn has spent an amazing 25 years with B&B. We will always consider him family, and we wish him only the best in all of his future endeavours."

Moss was one of the so-called "core four" on Bold, referring to the foursome of original actors still on the show, including Susan Flannery as Stephanie Forrester, John McCook as Eric Forrester, and Katherine Kelly Lang as Brooke Logan.

Ridge Forrester has for years been caught in a love triangle with Brooke and psychiatrist Taylor Hayes, played by Hunter Tylo.

Moss will shoot his final scenes for The Bold and the Beautiful on Tuesday, 14 August and his last episode will air in September on CBS in the US.

South Africa is approximately 12 months behind the US broadcast.

* The Bold and the Beautiful
airs in South Africa on SABC1, every weekday at 18:00.

his face looks kinda funny on this pick. i havent watched b_and_b in like 12 years but last time i remember he had a smooth face and strong jaw, not this failed-plastic-surgery look. anyway, i wonder if, after 25 years of pretending to be someone, you can actually go back to normal life.

    Poor Brooke...

  • jo.vankatwijk - 2012-08-13 11:31

I hope the writers have "killed" him off, so we don't ever have to see him marry Brooke again and again and again (did I miss an again?)

The end of a legend. They may as well just cancel the show. Can you imagine Dallas without JR? Or Man Utd without Sir Alex? On a different note, let's see how many South Africans refuse to pay their TV licence because Ridge is no longer on the box.

  • grant.logan.94 - 2012-08-13 15:12

End of an era certainly. Still the best US soap on tv I guess - even though I haven't been watching in years. Isidingo RULZ!!!!!!!

All you Ronn Moss "knockers" should look so good at his age, I, for one will miss him, and so will millions of others. Good luck Ronn.

Thank goodness. What will Brooke cry about? It is so tiresome watching her cry for so many years. I will miss Stephanie and I wish her the best and many more years. Fibromyalgia is awful.
