SABC1 apologises for Bold blunder

Cape Town – SABC1 has responded to thousands of irate viewers upset with the broadcaster on Friday after they broadcast the same episode of The Bold and the Beautiful three nights in a row.

The public broadcaster has blamed a technical error for the episode mix-up, as the coding of the episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful "from analogue to digital" was not done correctly.

"It resulted in the same video footage repeating itself over the past days," the channel said.

'Regret the inconvenience'

"SABC1 has already offered a sincere apology to viewers via an on-screen message yesterday," said SABC1.

"We regret the inconvenience suffered due to the error in the coding."

The channel also reassured Bold fans that the correct broadcast of the popular US soap opera would resume as normal.

"We are glad to announce that the technical errors have been corrected and the right sequence in episodes will resume as per normal today (Friday)."

The Bold and the Beautiful airs every weekday on SABC1 at 18:00.
