Taylor Kitsch is totally excited about his role in True Detective 2

Los Angeles - Taylor Kitsch has confirmed that he will be joining Colin Farrell in the second season of the crime drama  series, True Detective.

In an interview with Ad Week the Snakes on a Plane actor could not hold his enthusiasm, he exclaimed: 'I am so fucking excited!'

The much anticipated season two will be filmed in California excluding Los Angles and will feature three lead actors.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the season will be written by the original script writer of the show Nic Pizzolatto. The season will follow two policeman and a career criminal who uncover a conspiracy after a murder.

Each episode will be directed by a different director with Justin Lin best known for Fast & The Furious directing the first two episodes.

Season two will consist of 8 episodes and will also star Hollywood regulars Vince Vaughn.

True Detective 2 will premiere in the US in the summer of 2015.
