New York — One day after an emergency appendectomy, Trevor Noah was back at his Daily Show anchor desk, taping a new episode set that aired in the States on Thursday night.
Comedy Central said on Thursday that the Daily Show host was back at work, with actress Regina King as his scheduled guest.
The Daily Show tweeted; "TONIGHT! The premiere of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah without Trevor Noah's Appendix".
Noah underwent the surgery on Wednesday morning. A few hours later, the network said the procedure had gone well. A repeat episode of his show aired Wednesday night.
Noah took over as host of The Daily Show in September, succeeding Jon Stewart, who stepped down in August after 15 years.
The Daily Show With Trevor Noah airs Tuesdays to Fridays at 21:00 on Comedy Central (DStv channel 122).
