Trevor Noah compares Donald Trump to Jacob Zuma on The Daily Show

Cape Town – Trevor Noah is still settling in to his seat at The Daily Show but has already fired shots at South African president, Jacob Zuma.

On the episode that aired in the US on Thursday night Noah compared the American real estate tycoon and leading Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, to the controversial Zuma.

"For me, as an African, there's just something familiar about Trump that makes me feel at home," Noah said.

The funnyman then aired footage of Trump criticising Mexican immigrants which he followed up with a clip of Zuma saying that some of the immigrants in SA are criminals.

"That's light xenophobia with just a dash of diplomacy - which is also the title of Paula Deen's new book," he added.

There aren't currently any online clips available of the episode but South Africans can catch Zuma’s “debut” on The Daily Show on Comedy Central (DStv channel 122) on Friday night at 21:00.

This isn't the first time Noah has made fun of Zuma. In his stand-up show Crazy Normal he also poked fun at Mzansi's Number One.
