Los Angeles – Joan Rivers passed away on Thursday afternoon after being hospitalised last week when she went into cardiac arrest at a Manhattan doctor's office following a routine procedure.

Shortly after her passing tributes started pouring in on social networks. Celebrities have been sharing memories, sweet messages and sending Melissa and the rest of the family their love and support.

Giuliana Rancic:

"A great comedienne, a trailblazer, an original, a legend but most importantly a wonderful mother, grandmother and gentle soul. What an honor to have known you. I love you and miss you already, Joan."

Kelly Osbourne:

George Kotsiopoulos:

"Joan was eternally young, hysterically funny and unapologetically glamorous. She was also the kindest, classiest and cleverest person you would ever meet. I was a lucky man to be honored with the privilege of sitting next to her every week. I loved her beyond words and I will miss her even more."

Rob Scheppy:

"She always wanted us to laugh and she entertained us perfectly"

Cara Delevingne:

"Rest in peace Joan Rivers and Robin Williams! It makes me so sad but they taught me that one of the most important things in life is to laugh and they both caused a MASSIVE amount if it, not only at life but at themselves too. They both have inspired me and everyone around them to find the funny things in life even when life is not so funny. Their legacies will live on forever in our hearts and inspire more people to be themselves and to freely express that with freedom #legends #liveforever #tolaughterandbeyond ??"

Sarah Silverman:

Ryan Seacrest:

Jimmy Kimmel:

Barbera Streisand:
